Lan Xichen comes from a canon where inner spiritual energy can affect people, from a gentle healing power to small measure of mind/mood control (from soothing to... the opposite). Xichen tends to be very considerate, but in an emergency he will use what is available to him - mostly using music.

If would like to avoid any such effects, or explicitly want ooc contact before applying these powers, let me know.

Additionally, the canon typical violence (and zombies) is a Thing, and so are spoilers which include things not limited by suicidal ideation (or suicide/s in the story). Let me know if I should avoid any such.

Aerith's magic involves manipulation of the life forces of things around her, so is used to spiritual manipulation! Or at least being the one casting that kind of magic. Feel free to use his magic around her, she'll find it fascinating!

She might be a little alarmed by the zombies though. There's a bad connotation with those back home.

And, in all fairness, Xichen neither wants to nor really can raise zombies. That's for his brother-in-law. He can ask about what they are resentful about and help them back to rest. So he's unlikely to alarm her on that account ... personally.

I'm fine with things happening, though any mental influence will have a hard wall to chip through. All other powers are probably good though.

I am also fine with Things happening (Though Nita is the only one who might recognize there's Things going on independently of what she's learned about the MDZS cast while on the train) to all three of mine: Nita Callahan (unfavorableinstigation), Webmind (this account), and Alfredo Martini (hisblueskies).

Noted! And yes, all this makes sense. Nita will prooobably very much enjoy his music since cultivation is very much about connection with the world without and world within, connecting with the heaven and earth, and making things (like bodies) work better and more efficient.

Just commenting to say that I'm opting in to things like healing, but would prefer OOC communication before mind/mood control stuff! Probably nothing major would be needed, just a heads-up and maybe some light plotting.

Yes, yes, absolutely. Usually in a starter it might be something like 'he is playing a Song that can have x effect' and up to anyone there to decide if they are affected; if more specific effect is desired, he might be able to do it... but even so, anything more specific than 'this effect can vaguely be used' will be IC confirmed.
