Is it truly that off-putting for someone to use the proper words for things, rather than wrapping them in pretty nonsense?

[ Asked by the CEO of the Lan company, yes. Not that his uncle would use that particular word, but he also doesn't mince words, calling things as he sees them. So if it were to happen, Xichen wouldn't be that shocked.

And he certainly has used the word, himself. In the right circumstances. ]

There *are* contexts in which it is unwelcome, but it's seldom that I would find it disturbing.
